The Geyer-Campbell Sports Medicine Center is a full-service athletic training facility housed in the Wendt wing of the Reid Athletic Center. The training room was renovated and expanded in the summer of 1996 providing 4500 square feet of space to meet the ever-increasing needs of the intercollegiate athletics program. The renovation was made possible by the generous gifts of Mr. William "Indian Bill" Geyer '42 and Mr. Douglas Campbell '50.  Each professional staff member has individual office space.  A small exam room is used by our physicians when they are using the facility for evaluations on Colgate's student-athletes.  The taping/service area can efficiently handle the preparation needs of eight athletes at one time. The custom-designed taping tables also serve as the primary storage area, capable of holding several hundred cases of tape and supplies.  The treatment/evaluation section of the room spans the middle section of the facility, including nine treatment tables and multiple supporting therapeutic modalities.  Our modality inventory includes ultrasound, electrical stimulation, Game Ready cold compression units, infrared light therapy and hot packs.  The hydrotherapy area consists of three large whirlpools.  Two ice machines maintain supply to the busy facility with one producing cubes for cooling down whirlpools and coolers and another which creates flaked ice for ice bags which are more effective for molding to injured areas.  Additional areas of the Sports Medicine facility include locker/storage area for the student assistants, cooler/ice chest storage racks, cabinet storage area for orthopedic supplies, and an outside access door leading to our van and four "club car" carts.
