The Society of Families

The Society of Families (SOF) is governed by a Steering Committee of more than 125 members and a chaircouple, who are invited to serve by the administration. SOF members represent the diversity of the undergraduate body and the committee meets biannually to discuss the goals and needs of the university. Their responsibilities include:

Admission
• Sharing the benfits of Colgate University with friends and parents of prospective students through the parent-to-parent admission calling program.
• Assisting in recruitment for the university by working with regional committees to identify outstanding candidates for admission.
• Hosting or attending admission send-off parties.

Career Services
• Offering career guidance, providing internships, participating in career panels, hosting receptions, and/or job recruitment.

Development
Volunteer to help the Parents’ Fund through fund-raising and other community-strengthening endeavors.  The Parents' Fund supports the day-to-day life of all students which can directly affect the quality of your child's experience.  Get involved, share your experiences with other parents and continue the tradition!

If you are interested in volunteering for Admission, Career Services or Development, please sign up on the enclosed form.
