The following instructions and guidelines are intended to help Colgate students who are
currently on Colgate Study Groups or approved leaves of absence:
|
Students who are currently off-campus will be provided their
registration PIN and are encouraged to register via Banner web for Student.
Please bear in mind, however, that the times listed in the
Registration
Schedule are Eastern Time.
- For students on leaves of absence:
Registration materials, including the booklet, registration
form, and PIN, will be mailed to the home address on
record in the Registrar's Office. If students would like
the registration materials sent to an alternate (foreign)
address, they must contact the Registrar's Office
(registrar@mail.colgate.edu) and provide us with their
complete mailing address.
|
- Students who are currently off-campus may instead choose to fax or email
their registration request to the Registrar's Office. Students who elect this
option will be registered during their scheduled class/alpha time,
provided that their
registration request is received on or before that day/time. Please see the
Registration Schedule for additional information.
- To avoid complications, we recommend that registration requests be faxed
(315-228-7125) or emailed (Registrar@mail.colgate.edu) to the
Registrar's Office by Friday, November 4.
|
- Students should provide alternate course selections, even if they have an
early registration time. Many courses have a very limited number of seats open to
seniors and juniors.
|
- Students will not be registered in restricted courses unless they have
received permission from the instructor and the Registrars Office has been
notified by that instructor. It is the student's responsibility to ensure
that permission is obtained. Restricted courses include those in which enrollment it
limited certain classes or majors, and courses that require the instructors
signature.
Similarly, students will not be registered for a course if they have not
satisfied the pre-requisites.
|
- Students will not be registered in courses for which
they do not have the proper pre-requisites.
|
- Seniors and juniors are no longer eligible to pre-register for PHED
courses; instead, they must wait until the first week of classes, then register directly with the
Physical Education Office (Huntington 212). Questions concerning this policy should be directed to the Physical Education Office.
|
- Due to time constraints during registration, the Registrars Office
staff is not able to notify students of the outcome of their registration unless
(a) they were ineligible to register (e.g., due to a financial/accounts receivable
hold), or (b) they were registered for fewer than 3 of their requested primary and/or alternate courses.
- Students should remember to check the on-line course
booklet for information regarding availability of courses. Changes
in course offerings, including added or cancelled courses, or
day/time/instructors changes, will be incorporated into the on-line
course booklet immediately and posted on the
Changes
to the Course Booklet page.
