"My brother Ricky is a junior studying in Wales now
and my parents really really wanted me to come to Colgate. I was sold on my recruiting trip. I like the good balance
of academics, sports, and social. And the winter isn't actually that bad. My plan is to take courses that
interest me, then decide what I want to major in during the
second semester next year. Right now I like everything, and
the professors are amazing." |

Weekly Schedule
Students admitted to OUS participate in a pre-first-year summer
program. This five-week program is designed to help ease the
transition from high school to Colgate, and increase academic readiness.
Participation in the summer program provides OUS students with time
to become familiar with other students, the campus environment, faculty
and staff members, campus resources, and academic expectations.
Summer session curriculum
The standard OUS summer curriculum provides students with
writing support and a selection of courses in the humanities, social sciences, and/or natural sciences.

"I heard about Colgate at a college fair in a mall. I
was told it was prestigious and small and it sounded like a good transition from
the private school I attended. I liked the idea of being able to make connections with my
professors. At first the trees intimidated me, and at home I always had the
mountains to tell me where to go. Despite the culture shock, I think I've
adjusted very well. I feel comfortable. I feel I can do anything I want to do
here. I'm debating between languages, international relations, and the sciences.
I'm involved with LASO and the Latin American Dancers and am living in Can Do
House, which is committed to community service." |
