Exhibition“One Song, Many Voices: The Asian Pacific American Experience.”

This exhibition represents a pictorial account of 200 years of the history of Asians and Pacific Islanders in Washington State, detailing their immigration and settlement, community life, cultural traditions, and contributions to economic growth in their new home.  This exhibition was produced by the Wing Luke Asian Museum in Seattle, Washington, and is circulated by Exhibit Touring Services (ETS) at Eastern Washington University.

 

 

October 25 – December 17, 1999

Exhibition “Imaging/Imagining Our Stories: Haudenosaunee Visual and Verbal Arts.”

This exhibition demonstrates how Haudenosaunee or Iroquois artists use traditional stories as a resource in their work, sometimes illustrating the stories, reinterpreting them, or investing them with new meaning for life on the threshold of the twenty-first century.

Exhibition“Musical Instruments of India from the Collection of William Skelton.”

Taken from the collection of William Skelton, who has run the Colgate Study Abroad to India for many years, this exhibition displays the richness and variety of both North and South Indian musical traditions.

Exhibition“Latin American Painters in New York City: Global Art in the Year 2000.”  The Longyear Museum of Anthropology, Alumni Hall, and the Department of Art and Art History Gallery, Dana Arts Center.

This multi-gallery exhibition showcases the exciting new work of eleven artists whose origins are Latin American, but who have lived and worked in New York City for varying amounts of time – from a few years to two decades.  They include emerging as well as established artists who are primarily painters, although the paint may be applied to canvas, paper, fiber pulp, wood panels, or three-dimensional wooden constructions.
