We provide reasonable accommodations on a case-by-case basis to individuals with disabilities in order to insure each person has an opportunity to participate fully in all of our programs and services. Reasonable means an adjustment to a course, program policy or practice that does not undermine or compromise essential standards or elements of the curriculum or program. An initial determination of what is reasonable is made by the Director of Academic Program Support and Disability Services. A determination of how that accommodation will be administered is usually made by the faculty member and student and in consultation with the Director of Academic Program Support. For example, when the accommodation of extended time precludes taking the exam along with the rest of the class, the precise time and location for that exam is determined by the student and instructor.
