The Office of Academic Support and Disability Services oversees the provision of services for students with disabilities and serves as a campus clearinghouse for information and resources related to disabilities and compliance. The Director, Lynn Waldman reports to the Provost/Dean of the faculty. She serves as Colgate’s compliance officer for the American’s With Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.

Committees:
The Campus Access Committee is a University-Wide advisory Committee is comprised of administrators, faculty and students and makes recommendations to appropriate Colgate administrators on matters of campus access, education, and grievance.

The Adaptive Technology Subgroup makes recommendations to the Case Library Renovation Committee concerning adaptive technology and special needs. The subgroup is compresed of the Director of Collaboration for Enhanced Learning (CEL), Head of Collection Development, and Director of Academic Program Support and Disability Services.

The Web Accessibility Subcommittee was formed by the Campus-Wide Information Technology Committee to advise it on matters of web access. The Committee has developed web accessibility guidelines and works with department and program personnel to improve sites.
