Working with Adults

Refugee Center
Members of Literacy Volunteers will receive a nine hour training course to work with and to assist illiterate individuals.  Certified students will then be given the opportunity to tutor illiterate or struggling readers in the Utica area.  Once students have received training, they tutor once a week for one to two hours.  Contact COVE for more information.

Iaso
Iaso is the Greek goddess of healing.  We spread awareness of domestic violence on the Colgate campus and greater Hamilton community through educational programs and campaigns, including lectures, dorm programs, film and documentary showings, COOP tables, and informative posters / table tents. In addition, we fundraise for and volunteer at women’s shelters within Madison County, such as helping to clean shelters and providing services for women and children residing in the shelters.  Contact COVE for more information.

How can I be a part of it?
