AIDS Task
Force
The AIDS Task Force raises
awareness on Colgate's campus and engages in fundraising for local AIDS
Resource Centers. Regular visits to the Utica Resource Center occur.

Community Connections pairs up Colgate
students and Hamilton families to enjoy community events and activities
together and also to increase the understanding between our

Hamilton
Volunteer Fire Department
Our students participate in all
preparatory and daily activities required in the department, members are
on call 24hrs a day 7 days a week and are expected to respond to as many
emergencies as possible. Contact

Helping Hands
Helping Hands provides
"one-time" volunteer opportunities to meet arising needs in the
community. The student body receives monthly volunteer calendars and
students RSVP via email for the projects they wish to attend.
Projects range from painting buildings to visiting with the elderly,
outdoor cleaning to working at soup kitchens and reaching out to new

Food
Salvage
Volunteer to help fight hunger in
Madison County and to educate the Colgate community. The main goal
of the Food Salvage program is to redistribute excess food from the dining
halls and local restaurants to community centers that provide this food to
families in need. Creative thinkers are always needed to help
continue the work and to expand the organization. Contact Hillary,

Pet Pals
Provide companionship for the animals of the Chenango County's Society for
Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) in Norwich, NY. The
volunteer responsibilities include exercising, brushing, and socializing
with the dogs and cats.

SOMAC
Southern Madison County Volunteer
Ambulance Corps is a non-profit ALS ambulance service covering the greater
Hamilton area. Contact Mark

Habitat For Humanity
This year the Colgate University Habitat chapter will be
involved in the construction of a home for a low-income family at a site
in Bridgeport, NY (1 hour by car). Members will volunteer there
about once a month, mostly on Saturdays. There will also be a week
long spring break opportunity available, given first to those students who
participate in the year long program. Contact
