Grading of the STEP course ultimately relies on collaboration between the students, faculty sponsor, and STEP administrator. All STEP courses should, however, require each student to write a research paper of no less than 15 pages regarding his/her project. Additionally a reflection paper of no less than 5 pages should also be required to explain the significance that the STEP course had for the particular student. STEP courses should meet at least once weekly for the duration of the semester to maintain close contact between the participants (and the faculty sponsor as necessary). During such meetings, participants should discuss readings, plan service activities, and reflect on the course. Colgate course credit may be granted through the sponsoring department or in whatever manner the students, faculty, and administration. How can I be a part of it?
