Students from the Utica Tutoring group participating in the Bowl-a-Thon 2004 for the Thea Bowman Center The Center for Outreach, Volunteerism, and Education (The COVE) is Colgate's center for service, citizenship, and community building. Housed in East Hall, the COVE supports volunteer organizations, service learning classes, internship programs, residential life initiatives, and social change oriented career counseling. Our goal is to help America meet its two most pressing challenges: to create healthy communities that meet the multiple needs of all people, and to create an activated citizenry of community builders who are committed to democracy. "Democracy is neither a consumer good nor a spectator sport but rather the work of free citizens, engaged in shared civic education." The National Commission on Civic Renewal How can I be a part of it?
