Christina Caldwell, Psy.D.

I joined Counseling & Psychological Services office at Colgate in 1998.  I enjoyed being a part of the staff here for about 2 ½ years before taking some time off.  In the Fall of 2002 I returned on a part-time basis, and I'm happy to be working with students again.

I earned my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Florida Institute of Technology in 1998.  My time in graduate school was spent focusing on abuse issues and family systems theory.  I’m particularly interested in issues related to overcoming abuse, spiritual development, women’s body concerns, and couples and family relationships.  The psychological theories that influence how I work with students include family systems, cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal, and humanistic.  I take the lead from the person I’m working with, and naturally choose the style that fits his/her personality and concerns.

It’s been great being associated with Colgate, and being back in the Northeast after living in both the South and out West.  I spend my free time reading, watching and playing sports, and spending lots of time with family and friends.
