The purpose of the Radiation Safety Committee is to ensure that all use of radioactive material is conducted in a safe manner and in accordance with New York State Department of Health Regulations and Colgate's liscense. The committtee has the authority and responsibility for approval and disapproval of all proposals for radionuclide use prior to purchase of the materials. The committee meets once each semester to review reports, training records, make policy, and update procedures. In addition, the committee reviews the entire program annually.
