• Hispanic males are traditionally the authority figures in the household and should be treated as such (Servants, 5).

• In Mexico, it is inappropriate for a husband to attend to his wife during delivery.

• Some Mexican women will not give consent for any treatment for their child without the husband’s permission.

• Some Mexican husbands will not permit their wife to have a tubule litigation, even if her health is in jeopardy or if it is not economically feasible for her to have more children. In the Mexican culture a man’s status is largely determined by the number of children he sires.
